Crossing Borders

Crossing Borders is a training programme for documentary filmmakers from Europe and Asia who strive to access the international non-fiction market and are looking for coproduction and cofinancing possibilities.
Crossing Borders is an international documentary programme initiated by Documentary Campus and EDN to connect filmmakers and projects from Europe and South East Asia. Through a 3-step workshop programme taking place in Asia and Europe, documentary projects from the two regions are developed and fine-tuned culminating in a  pitching session and documentary conference attracting a wide range of international guests.

In the course of the programme participants meet high-profile documentary experts and financiers and colleagues from other regions and cultures. This fosters new opportunities, broader horizons and gives a voice to filmmakers with important stories to tell. Ideas and visions are nurtured and exchanged, and stories go from local to global.
Learning outcomesCrossing Borders creates networks and partnerships between Europe and South East Asia and helps filmmakers turn ideas into films for an international audience. Till now over 200 participants have been part of the four previous editions of Crossing Borders, and they have not only benefitted from finding partners and financing for an on-going project but also for future films and initiatives.
